According to the Ministry of Information and Communications guidance No. 2480/BBBTT-VT, from 00:00 A.M., on 26 October, 2008, SPT will extend the telephone numbers of SPT’s fixed phones in HCMC from 7 digits to 8 digits by adding number 5 before the existing numbers of subscribers
For example, the existing 7-digit-phone number is 4.x.x.x.x.x.x will become 54 x.x.x.x.x.x .Within one week before 01 November, 2008, the customers can use two ways 7 digits and 8 digits at the same time. From 00:00 A.M. on 01 November, 2008 onward, SPT will apply the 8-digits-phone number only.
