Ho Chi Minh Ctiy – On Aug 26th, 2008, Saigon Post and Telecommunication Service Corporation (SPT) was officially awarded the licence for International Delivery Service by the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC). SPT is one of a few Vietnamese companies achieving this license.
To be licensed, SPT must meet all regulations of MIC such as standard management and service quality. SPT can decide the tariffs which should not be less than VNĐ 150,000 per letter for outgoing international delivery services and VNĐ 8,000 per letter for incoming international delivery services, respectively. This rate can be adjusted by MIC over time.
Like other international delivery service providers, after licensed, SPT has responsibilities to: carry out measures of protecting the country’s interest and service users’ rights and benefits; protect information safety and security for international delivery service; implement regulations under the supervision of authorized government agencies in terms of information safety and security assurance; report periodically according to the regulation and upon the request of MIC; pay licensing fee as required; perform other rights and duties according to the law.
“The fact that MIC licensed the international delivery service to SPT has a specially important meaning. This is a chance for SPT to boost postal delivery services in order to provide our customers with many choices through high-quality, safe, and secure international delivery services with the best price. Those will prove SPT’s motto: To be a high-quality, professional and friendly post and telecommunication service provider,” remarked Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, President of SPT.
