On 07 July, 2008 in Hanoi, SPT was officially awarded the license to perform the trial of mobile WiMax services from the Ministry of Information and Communication
This is the mobile network using 802.16e WiMax standard - a wireless broadband standard- which spectrum is from 2.3 to 2.4 GHz frequency. With the license, SPT have a right to deploy services such as the terrestrial mobile service, wireless broadband service, and Internet applications for 1 year in Hochiminh City
During the trial period, SPT’s customers will have opportunities to use the high quality mobile Internet which applies modern technology. As other companies were granted the same licenses, SPT has responsibility to protect users’ interest, to ensure the effectiveness of its investment, and to return the spectrum on time as well as report the results to the Ministry after trial
Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan- The President of SPT said that in the future, if granted the service license, SPT will attempt to research and deploy more new modern services with good features, high quality based on broadband in order to satisfy more and more demanding customers. |
