S-Fone mobile phone network has joined with the Vietnam Software and Media Company (VASC) to provide an information on demand (IOD) service for all S-Fone subscribers as of June 9, 2006.

S-Fone subscribers may use services offered by switchboards 996, 997, 998 and 8799 and participate in entertainment programes on television and radio through phone numbers 19001255, 19001522, 19001799, and 19001761.

Using this service, S-Fone subscribers can access information on flight and train schedules, gold prices, the exchange rate, the weather forecast or use Asia Commercial Bank mobile banking services. The IOD service will also provide the latest news about the 2006 World Cup.

The charges is VND1,000 per minutes for calls to 19001255 or 19001522, and VND1,500 per minute for services offered at 19001799 and 19001761.
